
Tadej Pogacar has won his fourth Tour de France in his career after those in 2020, 2021, and 2024, thus reaching Froome in fifth place in the all-time ranking, just one behind the record holders Anquetil, Merckx, Hinault, and Indurain. Considering also the second places in 2022 and 2023, the Slovenian champion has become the first ever to reach the final podium for 6 consecutive editions.
Pogacar is the fifth to win the Tour de France as reigning World Champion. Before him, Bobet in 1955, Merckx in 1972, Hinault in 1981, and Lemond in 1990 had succeeded. During the three weeks, Tadej has brought his Tour stage wins to 21 (sixth all-time) and total days in the yellow jersey to 54 (fifth of all time). Pogacar has collected 104 total professional victories, including 19 stage races. In this season, the Slovenian has achieved 16 victories, all in World Tour races.
Vingegaard has been on the Tour de France podium for five consecutive times (2 firsts and 3 seconds), Lipowitz has allowed Germany to find a placement among the top three in the final classification, which had been missing since 2006 (Kloden 2nd). In this edition, 15 cyclists won stages representing 9 nations (Belgium leading with 6 wins). With Philipsen and Van Aert, they have become 34 riders to win at least 10 stages in Tour history.
Jonathan Milan kept our movement high with two beautiful stage wins (in Laval and Valence) and the green jersey, becoming the third Italian ever to win the points classification, after Bitossi in 1968 and Petacchi in 2010. Over the 21 stages of this edition, the Azzurri obtained a total of 6 podium placements and 16 top-ten finishes.
