Everything is ready in Piedmont for the Italian National Championships by Lega Ciclismo Professionisti. Following the awarding of the Italian time trial title to Filippo Ganna, the road race now takes place. This is the 125th national jersey in a race that is also valid for the Italian Regions Cup, organized by Lega and the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces. 48 teams in total for 139 riders at the start: the race departs from Piazza Vittorio Alfieri in Asti, with the start assembly at 9:30 AM. The team presentation is scheduled from 10:00 to 10:50, followed by the lineup and departure from km 0 at 11:10 AM on Via Asti, before arriving in Corso Nizza around 4:20 PM after 225 km.
Among the notable absences are Filippo Conca and Alessandro Covi (Jayco), first and second place finishers in 2025.

THE ROUTE: The race starts from Asti, at 165 meters above sea level, on a course suited for fast wheels with substance. The first 92 km are the most rolling, while the remaining distance up to the total 225 km of racing is almost entirely flat. Two categorized climbs are planned: the first at Monforte d'Alba, after 42.2 km of racing, at an elevation of 466 meters; the second at km 74.7, in the Murazzano area, at 696 meters altitude.
At 1,200 meters from the finish, there is a rather challenging right-hand curve before entering Via Roma, where the road surface is paved. The final straight measures 250 meters and runs on asphalt, with a road width of 8 meters.
The race is broadcast on Rai Sport starting at 3:00 PM and on HBO Max.
