
Second seasonal victory in Tuscany for Milan's Marco Zoco from GB Team Pool Cantù, who had already won the Gran Premio Sportivi Poggio alla Cavalla in Pistoia province on June 1st. This time Zoco prevailed over three breakaway companions. The quartet initiated their move on the fourth and final climb of Poggio Adorno, 11 km from the finish, breaking away from a group of seven riders that also included Paltrinieri, Mironau and Koshevoyari. The Pisan race was the opening of a two-day event with two national junior races of excellent level, in memory of Piero Pratesi, the Pistoia motorcycle courier who was a victim of a tragic road accident during the Stabbia race last May. On the first day, therefore, joy and satisfaction for Zoco in the 79th G.P. Industria del Cuoio e delle Pelli, the first edition reserved for juniors. In the sprint, it was a head-to-head between Zoco and Forlin with the Milanese rider's victory, followed by Fracasso and the French rider Queau. Subsequently, Paltrinieri, Mironau, Uguccioni and Prato's Pietro Menici were dropped, with Menici eighth and the best Tuscan rider in the race. 184 riders at the start, with Italian champion Vincenzo Carosi honored by the organizers of U.C. S.Croce before the start.
TOMORROW, Monday, August 8th, the rematch with the 63rd Coppa Pietro Linari in Borgo a Buggiano, with almost the same athletes as the previous day, facing a 120 km route particularly challenging and difficult in the final with climbs to Colle Buggiano to be repeated three times in addition to the Massa climb.
