PROFESSIONISTI | 21/12/2016 | 16:11 L’esperto direttore sportivo ed ex ciclista professionista austriaco Harald Morscher entra nello staff tecnico del Bahrain Merida Pro Cycling Team. Harald Morscher, nato nel 1972 in Austria, è passato professionista nel 1998, ha vinto il Campionato Nazionale su Strada nel 2004 e diverse tappe in vari giri nel corso della sua carriera. È stato il direttore sportivo e co-proprietario di ProEvent Cycling Sports GmbH. Nel febbraio 2012 è entrato a far parte del progetto Katusha. Dopo la firma dell'accordo Morscher ha detto: "Dopo un periodo piuttosto lungo di lavoro dietro la scrivania, finalmente torno in corsa. Far parte di questo team è un grande onore per me, voglio dare il mio cobtributo a questo progetto».
Experienced Sports Director and former Austrian professional cyclist, Harald Morscher has signed to be one of the Sports Directors in BAHRAIN MERIDA Pro Cycling Team. Harald Morscher, born 1972 in Austria has been involved in the world of professional cycling almost all his life. After his racing career in cycling he stayed tightly connected with his favorite sport. Morscher joined professional cycling in 1998. He won the Austrian National Road Race Championship in 2004 and finished second in 1997, 2002 and 2006. He also won many stages at different tours in his long professional career. After the end of his active racing career, he was the Sports Manager and co-owner of ProEvent Cycling Sports GmbH, where he was responsible for sponsoring acquisition and sponsoring development, purchase and inventory management, human resources development, material advancement together with the suppliers, team conception as well as the installation of the service course and the fan shop in Rankweil. In February 2012 he joined Russian KATUSHA Cycling Team project as the General Manager for the Katusha development and youngster team. In 2015 he was consulting for different small companies and Cycling Projects as well for some riders and was also responsible for the Team Management at Tour of Austria. Morscher accepted the challenge to work in the newly established BAHRAIN MERIDA Pro Cycling Team and the Team Management is confident that with his knowledge and experience he will greatly contribute to the establishment of the team and its future development. After signing the agreement Morscher said: "After quite a long time of staying in the office I am back "in the Race". To be part of the "Year of birth" of the BAHRAIN MERIDA Pro Cycling Team is a big honour for me and I will contribute to this unique project everything that is in my power. I would also like to take this opportunity and express my gratitude to the Team for trusting me with this important role." BAHRAIN MERIDA General Manager had this to say with regards to Harald Morscher: “We are very pleased to have such an experienced person signing with team BAHRAIN MERIDA, Harald has worked in all fields of a cycling team, ranging from the sportive side to the managerial side and can cover many different roles so his experience is an important asset to the team, we are sure Harald will bring a lot of value and help establish the team in the best way possible”.
