Andrew August won the second stage of the Czech Tour, which started from Mladá Boleslav and finished at altitude on Ještěd after 155 kilometers of racing. The Netcompany INEOS rider crossed the line ahead of Alessandro Fancellu, a 26-year-old from Como riding for MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort, and Domenico Pozzovivo, a 44-year-old with Solution Tech NIPPO Rali who completed the day's podium, beating Filippo Turconi into fourth place.
Before the final climb, the race saw several attackers in action, including Martin Voltr (ATT Investments), Michal Schuran (Team United Shipping), Gil Gelders (Soudal Quick-Step) and Mattia Bais (Team Polti VisitMalta).
The peloton, heavily reduced, regrouped about a dozen kilometers from the finish.
