Filip Maciejuk's World Tour adventure continues. The 26-year-old Polish rider, who joined the top tier with Bahrain-Victorious in 2022, will continue racing in the top tier wearing the Movistar jersey, a team that today announced his signing for the current season.
Reigning two-time national time trial champion, the '99 born rider from Pulawy has three professional victories in his career (all obtained on home roads) and good qualities as a rouleur, a characteristic that ultimately convinced Eusebio Unzue's team to sign him for 2026, thus making him the fourth Pole in the team's decades-long history, after Sylwester Szmyd, Tomasz Brożyna, and Dariusz Baranowski.
"Signing with Movistar means a lot to me" Maciejuk stated through the team's official channels.
"I am extremely happy and, above all, I would like to thank the management, staff, and all team members for the trust they have shown me. I am fully motivated to give 100% of myself, contribute to the team's objectives, and help achieve success in the most important races. Movistar has a great history, and it is a true privilege to be part of a team like this. I can't wait to tackle this new adventure" the young Polish rider continued, who after this unexpected signing, will need to roll up his sleeves to prove his worth and show he deserves a place in the top tier.
"This step is very important for my career, as I want to continue growing and improving as a rider" said the 2023 Polish road vice-champion.
"I believe Movistar is the perfect environment to do this, especially considering the team's experience in Grand Tours and Classics. My goal is to make the most of all the experience I have gained throughout my career, including my time at Red Bull, to support my teammates in the best possible way and help the team achieve excellent results throughout the season. I hope my work will make both the riders and management proud".
Maciejuk, who arrived in Spain after two years with Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe and another two with Bahrain-Victorious, thus becomes the 28th rider under contract with the Spanish team this year and, more generally, reduces to 13 the number of riders who, after having ridden for a World Tour team in 2025, are currently without a team or have not yet officially confirmed their future.
