In the Medici Villa of Coltano, which is also home to the Archaeological Museum, in a packed hall filled with athletes, managers, and sports enthusiasts, the splendid celebration of Pisan cycling societies was held, organized by the local Provincial Committee of the Italian Cycling Federation.
Among the guests were Frida Scarpa, the Sports Councilor for the Municipality of Pisa, and Luca Menichetti, President of the Tuscany Regional Committee, along with councilors Massimo Fogli and Andrea Diolaiuti. Benedetto Piccinini, Provincial President of the Pisan Committee, hosted the event with his collaborators. The 2025 season was remembered, highlighting the Giro d'Italia stage finish in Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa after 45 years, the commitment to promoting youth cycling which will remain a primary focus in 2026, and the outstanding season of the local U.C. Coltano Grube, the top society in the national novice category, accumulating 366 points from 106 top-five placements and 28 victories.
The first recognitions were presented to the Municipality of Pisa, the Regional Committee, Rosario Stefanucci from Coltano Grube for his commitment to youth activities, and Massimo Cheli for women's cycling. The Pisan society dominated the ceremony with awards given to all societies active in youth cycling, those distinguished in Provincial Championships and organizational sectors.
Individual awards went to provincial road champions Duccio Kovatz, Silvia Bianconi Maioli, Edoardo Stefanini, Federico Nesti Cupelli, Samuele Betti and Gabriele Mannucci in off-road cycling, regional road champions Diego Della Polla, Olivia Giovannetti and Ginevra Bacci, track champions Elena Geppi, Aurora Masi, Ginevra Bacci, and off-road champions Andrea Pighini, Federico Bartalini, and Marcello Bartolozzi, who was crowned European and Italian off-road champion and finished second in the World Championship.
For the XCO Tuscany Trophy, awards went to Niccolò Massoni and Sofia Fioravanti. Additional recognitions were given to Bonanni, Grassi, Tamberi, Di Francia, Biagioni, Bani, Colonaci (also impressive in the World Cup Enduro race), and Teodora Castelli. Finally, performance rankings recognized Della Polla, Stefanini, Marini, Di Stefano, Giovannetti, and the societies Coltano Grube, Butese, and Team Fabiana Luperini San Miniato. A splendid ceremony filled with applause and congratulations, holiday wishes, and the desire to do even better in the next season.
