Said Cisneros' transfer from A.R. Monex Pro Cycling Team to Soudal Quick-Step Devo Team cannot be simply dismissed as a mere jersey change, at the end of his junior category journey. It is true that Mexican cycling is experiencing a magical moment: return to national championship competition, women's world title in track cycling, promotion of a Petrolike rider to the Spanish professional team Burgos Burpellet BH.
Said Cisneros, proportionally speaking, fits into the golden thread connecting San Marino to professional cycling, once again demonstrating how the youth team that launched Isaac Del Toro has taken shape in the shadow of Monte Titano (and on the roads of the Boot, we might add). Programming calls for talent, as Piotr Ugrumov and his collaborators in Monex know, yet when the inspiring model of "El Torito" is involved, how could a promising 18-year-old cyclist not aim to win the Tour de l'Avenir?
There's only one Del Toro, agreed, but Said, who loves climbs and is loved back, was not coincidentally declaring in his presentation profile his ambition to conquer the young riders' Grande Boucle. Cisneros, discovered by Alex Carera, closed 2025 by winning both the junior national time trial and road titles, but solid performances crowned with success had already arrived before, starting with his breakthrough in Perugia at Pretola: it was June 2025 and the Monex standard-bearer was revealing himself. Now here he is, proudly posing with the Soudal Quick-Step Devo Team jersey.
"In my first year as an under-23 rider, I want to grow and learn from more experienced teammates, motivated by future participation in some of the most important races on the calendar. Cycling in Mexico is becoming increasingly popular, and it's wonderful to represent my country in the peloton".
Words from the boy born in April 2007, reiterated by the welcoming staff: "He is a pure climber with class to spare, as demonstrated in many Italian races, where he was clearly a protagonist when the road went uphill. We will work with him patiently: with time and the right advice, we expect to find a very strong rider in him," adds Soudal Quick Step Devo's sports director, Kevin Hulsmans.
