Sports as a social vehicle, and also as a means of solidarity. Anyone who commits to bringing young people - whether boys or girls - to a field, a gym, a track, or tennis courts performs an important, if not fundamental, work with profound social value. Then there are initiatives like those of Daniele Laino and his GoodShop I Run With You that also carry out the precious and noble task of raising awareness in the world of solidarity.
There are many ways to win: by a significant margin or by a hair's breadth, by a lot or by a little, by a stroke of luck or by manifest superiority. Then there is a very noble way, which is to challenge yourself for yourself and for others, as Daniele Laino's team does. "It's a project, a small but great ambition, our dream and goal: to be able to win not just to satisfy our ego or for our sponsors, but for the good of those who need it," Laino explains. "Let's say it's the sublimation of our ego: elevating ourselves for others. Doing something for someone."
The boys of the GoodShopTeam I Run With You do a lot. "The team's objective is to do well and do good. To value talents and try to collect something for others," Laino adds. We aim for psychological support and social inclusion, through a series of activities and meetings designed for less fortunate young people, using team athletes as role models. The project starts in the Piedmont region, with its historical and cultural landscapes, and extends to a national and even international scale thanks to the team's participation in races in Italy, Spain, France, and potentially other nations."
Just ask him about the project's aim, and Laino takes off like a good domestique. "Raising national and international public awareness about the importance of supporting struggling teenagers. We want to create a positive impact on the lives of less fortunate young people, offering them opportunities for physical, emotional, and psychological growth through sports activities shared with team athletes."
In this project, in addition to promoting motivational workshops and individual and group psychological support sessions, there will also be some shared training moments with the athletes. Young people will have the opportunity to participate in mini sports sessions, adapted to their level, but always designed to work on team spirit and achieve common goals. "This will not only help the young people improve physically," explains Daniele Laino, "but will also help them overcome their limits, finding confidence in themselves."
Among the activities carried out will also be "that of giving extreme visibility to training routes in the territory and highlighting places of great historical and cultural value." From the Reggia di Venaria Reale to the Sanctuary of Oropa, from the Cathedral of Sant'Andrea in Vercelli to the Sacra di San Michele near Turin.
