Double success for Paul Seixas who, by winning the final time trial, also celebrates victory in the general classification and writes his name in the prestigious golden book of the Tour de l'Avenir. The 18-year-old Frenchman covered the 10 kilometers uphill between Montvalezan and La Rosière in 24 minutes and 16 seconds, distancing Norwegian Nordhagen by 27" and Belgian Jarno Widar by 32". Lorenzo Finn finished his race 40" behind Seixas, placing fourth in the afternoon half-stage.
The placement was not enough for the Ligurian to maintain his third position in the general classification, and thus on the final podium of the French race climb the winner Seixas, Widar - who finishes second 40" behind - and Nordhagen, who is third with 44" from the winner.
THE FIRST HALF-STAGE Jarno Widar repeats himself and less than twenty hours after the success obtained at the Tignes 2100 finish line wins the first half-stage of today's Tour de l'Avenir. In Rosière, the 19-year-old Belgian distanced the French Paul Seixas and Lorenzo Finn, who finished in second and third positions, by a handful of seconds. Fourth place went to Norwegian Jørgen Nordhagen. The 41 morning kilometers did not modify the General Classification, which still sees Maxime Decomble in the lead.
In the afternoon, Stage 6b will offer a 10-kilometer time trial starting from Montvalezan and arriving again in La Rosière.
