The lineup with which the UAE Team Emirates will support Tadej Pogacar's yellow ambitions at the next Tour de France will be very well-equipped.
The Slovenian, hunting for his fourth Grande Boucle of his career, will be able to count in France on 7 experienced and reliable men capable of providing him with the necessary assistance in every race context. In the mountains, the World Champion will be able to rely on the qualities and numbers of Adam Yates (3rd at the Tour two years ago), Marc Soler, Pavel Sivakov, and, especially, Joao Almeida, one of the most in-form riders at the moment, as demonstrated by his superb comeback at the recent Tour of Switzerland.
To the work of these men, in the flat and hilly terrain, will be added the contribution of Nils Politt, Tim Wellens, and Jhonatan Narváez, all riders who have previously shown they can effectively sacrifice themselves for Pogacar.
"I am lucky to have had an almost perfect preparation this year," declared the current world champion through the team's official channels.
"Everything has gone very well, especially after the high-altitude training camp I did with my teammates. The atmosphere within the team is excellent and this gives me a lot of confidence. Of course, you can never be completely prepared for an unpredictable race like the Tour de France, but this is part of what makes it so special," he continued.
"I expect a very high level from all the other big names. The first days should be really intriguing for fans, with some open and explosive stages, while the last week will be rich with climbs and will offer some iconic stages. It will be a great battle until Paris, but I am ready to give my all," he stated resolutely. Pogacar will be able to benefit from the advice and support in the team car from Andrej Hauptman, Marco Marcato, Simone Pedrazzini, and, inevitably, Joxean Matxin.
