It's time to celebrate for Drali, the historic Milan-based frame manufacturer, which this year reaches a century since its founding. The company, originally a workshop, founded in 1925 by Carlo Drali has marked the history of Italy and cycling from the pioneers' era to the futuristic cycling of today, constantly renewing itself and betting on all cycling disciplines that require even more research and precision.
In reality, Carlo Drali's encounter with cycling happened long before opening the workshop, as he started working in the racing bike frame department at Biciclette Olimpia and then moved to Bianchi. In the queen of cycling stables, he worked alongside champions like Costante Girardengo and Primo Bergomi and then the Champion of Champions Fausto Coppi. Year after year, Carlo Drali managed to establish his brand for its quality, becoming an absolute reference point in the world of racing while continuing to innovate. The workshop, later moved to Via Agilulfo in Milan, was then passed down to his son Giuseppe, who continued the family tradition working for many champions until 2014.
After the business closure, Drali's story seemed destined to end forever, but in 2016, thanks to the bet of 4 passionate entrepreneurs, the Milan-based frame brand was reborn. Angelo Mantovani, Gianluca Pozzi, Andrea Camerana, and Robert Carrara breathed new life into Cicli Drali, picking up a tradition spanning decades and being supported by Giuseppe Drali's experience. Since 2017, production has resumed, accompanied by a new store, a fixed gear team, an amateur team, and the start of sponsorships to bring back a brand that remains a symbol of quality.
Drali will celebrate its first 100 years of history on May 31st with an exclusive event dedicated to those who have always believed in the project. During the evening, attendees will be able to admire a vintage bike exhibition representing the Drali brand's evolution through the successes of great champions up to the latest innovations. It will certainly be a special event with no shortage of surprises.
