ELEONORA GASPARRINI: «I'M NOT AFRAID OF RESPONSIBILITIES, IN 2025 I'LL BE AT THE SERVICE OF THE TEAM BUT ALSO A LEADER»

The UAE Team ADQ chose Benidorm to start pedaling towards the new season. A hospitality facility in the Spanish town is currently hosting all the UAE galaxy teams, and it is there that tuttobiciweb reached Eleonora Gasparrini by phone, a young athlete who this year was also able to demonstrate her talent by winning three races and achieving prestigious results such as the bronze medal at the U23 Europeans and the national jersey in the same category in Scarperia.

As she had already stated to our publication in October, Eleonora confirms that the most beautiful moment of her 2024 sports season was the podium conquered at the Hasselt finish line, but she proudly emphasizes: "The third place in the overall classification of the Italian championship made me very happy, and together with the victories and placements of this year, it makes me globally satisfied with my season. I feel I have grown even more".

The Piedmontese born in 2002 was on the podium alongside Longo Borghini, who will be her teammate at UAE ADQ in the next season. "Elisa's arrival in the team is extremely important. With her experience, she will help all of us, and I am convinced that she will give the team that extra edge that we sometimes lacked. Even the approach to races will be different", says Gasparrini.

Eleonora is about to begin her third year in the top category of women's cycling and, although she is fine-tuning her calendar with the team, she anticipates that she will tackle some races "being supportive of the team, but in others, I will be a leader and will have the opportunity to seek results". Then she adds: "As I said, I feel I have grown. I'm not afraid to take on responsibilities, and the team knows it can count on me".

From Gasparrini's words, one perceives great determination, the same that, along with her passion for cycling and talent, has allowed her to emerge since she was pedaling in youth categories. To young female cyclists, Eleonora launches a message, as a friend, as an older sister: "I want to suggest not forgetting the fun. It seems to me that things in youth categories have changed a lot since I was a Junior: I'm not closely involved in the category, but the feeling is that there is tension, exasperation. The path to becoming 'big' is long, don't be in a hurry, do things gradually".

And Eleonora Gasparrini's career will also proceed gradually. Before saying goodbye, she confides what she asks of 2025, which is already knocking at the door: "Continue to improve myself, reach new milestones and new satisfactions"
