Passion for cycling, fun and happiness in pedaling must take priority over results, cups, and victories. Especially among the youngest» Mauro Ulissi, father of Diego and vice president of Unione Ciclistica Donoratico, immediately clarifies the concept that forms the basis of the Livorno cycling association's activity, which in 2024 brought about thirty athletes from the Giovanissimi, Women Beginners, Beginners, and Juniors categories to the racing fields.  

Naturally, sports results were not lacking in these months, but what the Tuscan manager emphasizes with more pride while speaking to tuttobiciweb are the satisfactions obtained by organizing the Liberation Cup - 3rd Greppi Trophy for Juniors and Beginners (on April 25th), a race for Giovanissimi (in August), and especially a day dedicated to students. «At the end of October, together with my son Diego, we met 120 students from different classes of the Marconi Institute in Venturina Terme, they were intense and very beautiful hours» says Mauro Ulissi, who, together with president Stefano Callaioli and the managers of U.C. Donoratico, is planning a real "school project" that includes activities and meetings with students and teachers from other schools.

«We have proposed the initiative to several school complexes in our territory and we are getting an excellent response – states Vice President Ulissi – I am very happy to commit to this activity whose main purpose is to introduce boys and girls to the bicycle as a possible playmate and sporting activity, as well as an ecological means of transport».

On a purely sports level, the Unione Ciclistica Donoratico is planning the new season that it will face with athletes from the Giovanissimi, Beginners, Juniors categories, as well as female categories. Mauro Ulissi explains to tuttobiciweb what the significant novelties will be. «For the Juniors group, which will be composed of fifteen athletes, we have activated a collaboration with Fosco Bessi Calenzano and also with the Juniores Vangi Team, which will become the reference team for the growth of these athletes. For the Beginners, the novelty is represented by coach Lorenzo Zanobini, who will lead a team of seven athletes. In the female sector, there will be thirteen athletes, and in this case too, we will work in synergy with the Vangi Ladies Team with the future goal of creating a Tuscan female formation».

The Labonian team will also enroll a large group of amateurs next year and will be committed to organizing races for Juniors, Beginners, and Giovanissimi, without forgetting the "Tortello Festival" which goes beyond sports commitments but will involve adults and young people of the Society.
