Ondrej Cink è il nuovo corridore annunciato dal Team Bahrain Merida. Ondrej Cink, 25 è un corridore ceco, specialista della MTB, che si prepara ad un grande passo nella sua carriera. In seno al Team sono entusiasti di averlo in squadra: si tratta di un corridore di grande talento nella mountain bike che ovviamente dovrà familiarizzare con le corse su strada.
Dopo aver firmato con il Bahrain MERIDA Pro Cycling Team, Ondrej ha detto: «Prima di tutto vorrei ringraziare la squadra per l'opportunità che mi offre. È sempre stato il mio desiderio quello di poter correre un giorno in un team Pro Tour e affrontare il Tour de France, il Giro d'Italia o Vuelta Espana. Per questo sono molto motivato per la prossima stagione, ma so che dovrò imparare molto. Comunque sono pronto a lavorare duro e fare del mio meglio».

Ondrej Cink is the new rider who has been confirmed to be part of the new established team for the season 2017. Ondrej Cink, 25 is a Czech MTB racer who will make a big move in his career. He will turn from MTB racing into professional road cycling in the coming season. In BAHRAIN MERIDA Pro Cycling Team are very excited having him in the team. He is a very talented mountain bike rider who will participate with his experiences into the team but on the other hand he will need also a huge support and new knowledge from the team to became familiar with the road racing cycling. After signing with BAHRAIN MERIDA Pro Cycling Team, Ondrej said: “First of all I would like to thank to the Bahrain Cycling team for the opportunity they gave to me. I really appreciate it. It was always my dream one day to become a part of the pro tour team and absolve those kinds of races like Tour de France, Giro d’Italia or Vuelta Espana. Now I got the chance to fight for participation on those legendary races. So I am really motivated for upcoming season. But I know I will have to learn a lot. I come from mountain biking so I am aware I miss experiences. However I am ready to work hard and to do my best.” General Manager of Team BAHRAIN MERIDA, Brent Copeland said: “Ondrej comes from the world class of MTB riders and we are very pleased to have him part of our team where he now has the ability to show this talent in the road races with out teams jersey. Ondrej has an incredible ability to race well at high altitude and this is something that we believe will bring him something extra on the road, we believe that at his young age of 25 and combining this with the talent he has shown on the MTB will definitely give him what he needs to bring great results and yet another asset to our team, we find this a very exciting signing simply because if we look at the statistics of the past riders that have come from MTB racing background have always brought very exciting racing on the road and we believe that this will be the exact same case with Ondrej.”
