Danish rider Tobias Lund Andresen has won the Mapei Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race held with start and finish in Geelong over a distance of 182 kilometers. The Decathlon CMA CGM Team athlete, already winner of the first stage of the Tour Down Under, sprinted to victory in a group of about twenty riders, leaving behind Matthew Brennan from Team Visma Lease a Bike and NSN Cycling Team's Brady Gilmore, who finished second and third respectively.
Swiss champion Mauro Schmid (Team Jayco AlUla), winner of the race last season, was immediately off the podium; notable placements for Italians Filippo Zana (Soudal Quick-Step), seventh, and Francesco Busatto (Alpecin-Premier Tech), ninth.
