After two seasons spent with the Breganze Millenium Juniors, Giada Silo is ready to move up to the "big leagues" with the UAE Team ADQ development team. Turning 19 on February 4th, Giada started cycling at a very young age and can boast the Italian road title won in 2024. This year, despite an unlucky season, she still managed to achieve some satisfaction: she wore the blue jersey, finishing fifth at the World Championships in Kigali, while domestically she won in Ornavasso and twice secured second place, in San Daniele del Friuli and Moriago della Battaglia.
Residing in the province of Vicenza, Silo is particularly comfortable when the road goes uphill: "I love long climbs and uphill finishes, but in the future I would like to improve both in time trials and sprints," she stated.
Referring to the challenges awaiting her in the next season, she expressed herself as follows: "This will be my first year among the professionals, so results won't be the priority, but I would very much like to make a positive impression, also thinking about the upcoming World Championships, which will be very challenging on a course I like. I would really like to participate".
In addition to Giada Silo, UAE Team ADQ has also officially announced the entry of Ukrainian Milana Ushakova into their development team. Born in Kyiv in 2007, Milana lives in Belgium and this year won the national championship in both the road race and time trial. She also finished fifth in the overall final classification of the Tour du Gévaudan and twelfth in the World Championship time trial in Kigali.
"I have always admired the work of UAE Team ADQ and dreamed of one day becoming one of their athletes. I believe this is the best place to start my professional career and the best opportunity to grow and achieve my goals. I chose this team because I think I can grow gradually here and maybe one day become a WorldTour team leader," Ushakova stated.
