Cindy Morvan loved cycling, and she will be remembered on a bicycle by those who loved her. The 39-year-old, former French national track champion, was killed by gunshots about ten days ago and now her two children, aged 7 and 17, with the support of the Union Vélo Club de Calais, are organizing a bike ride to pay tribute to her and keep a promise.
Grégory Prévot, president of the Calais cycling association where the woman collaborated, told France Info that Cindy used to organize all-female bike rides and, just the day before her death, had asked her eldest son Erwann if he would like to cycle, as the only male, alongside her during that event. His response was affirmative.
So on November 23rd in Calais, a large crowd of cyclists is expected to gather from 2:00 PM to ride, with all types of bicycles, on a 13-kilometer route, in memory of Cindy Morvan. "The Federation has also contacted us, and I think cyclists will come from all over the region and beyond," declared President Prévot.
