With its many talents, Red Bull Bora Hansgrohe was the favorite at the start of the Giro della Toscana. Giulio Pellizzari, a young talent born in 2003 from the German team, managed to secure the victory. The first for an Italian athlete since Visconti's win in 2019.

"Even though everyone gave us as favorites, in the team we knew today would be tough. We had several riders returning after the Tour de France or after injuries. We knew we weren't at 100% but we took our responsibilities and in the end it worked out well," Pellizzari commented immediately after the finish line.

The climb of Monte Serra proved decisive, as expected. "It's not one of the climbs that suits me best, and the values I was reading from my computer weren't the best either. I tried to conserve myself as much as possible to then put all my energy into the final kilometer," Giulio commented.

Pellizzari achieved his sixth seasonal victory in front of the eyes of the Italian national team selector Roberto Amadio. "Last night, while talking, the CT asked me for a sign ahead of the Worlds. I hope I've sent it," the winner concluded.
