Tim Torn Teutenberg gave Lidl Trek their twenty-sixth victory of the season by winning the Philadelphia Classic. After 194 kilometers of racing, the 24-year-old German surpassed Robert Donaldson of Team Jayco AlUla and Jonas Rutsch of Lotto Intemarché in a tight sprint, crowning excellent teamwork. Simone Gualdi (Lotto Intemarché) proved to be the best Italian finisher, crossing the line in sixth place after an aggressive race.

The race was led for several kilometers by a breakaway group comprising Teutenberg (Lidl – Trek), Grindley (Lidl – Trek), Donaldson (Team Jayco AlUla), Lamperti (EF Education – EasyPost), Sheehan (NSN Cycling Team), Rutsch (Lotto Intemarché), Oliver (Modern Adventure), and Frayre (L39ION of Los Angeles). Behind them were Simmons (Lidl – Trek) and Gualdi (Lotto Intemarché), while further back another group was reported that also included Magli and Marcellusi of Bardiani CSF 7 Saber.

Twenty kilometers from the finish, the situation changed: Grindley was dropped from the leading group and, once caught by Simmons and Gualdi, worked to help his teammate rejoin the breakaway. The long chase by Gualdi and Simmons materialized 5 kilometers from the finish, and so nine riders found themselves at the front.

Immediately, Rutsch, Donaldson, and Teutenberg attacked in a counterattack, gaining a minimal but sufficient advantage to contest the victory.
