A curious episode, an episode that takes us straight to the heart of sport where rivalry is the engine of everything, but sportsmanship gives that special flavor that makes it all even more beautiful.

It happens on the road leading to Barcelona: Del Toro has a mechanical problem, he stops where there's a small group of fans - difficult to do in a stretch free from the crowd, practically impossible - and he waves his arms but... the UAE Emirates team car drives straight past. Del Toro gets on the radio, alerts the technicians who left him there, a matter of seconds and the Visma Lease a Bike team cars (yes, precisely them, the great rivals) and Netcompany Ineos come to a stop.

One mechanic changes Del Toro's rear wheel, the other pushes him to get going again. And then back in the cars, each one doing their job, sporting enemies just as before.

We'll see plenty more between here and Paris, but this is undoubtedly an image to preserve from this Tour de France.
