Tudor Pro Cycling is preparing for the Tour de France with clear objectives, defined ambitions and an intense preparation period behind them. "Our only goal: win stages - says sports director Addy Engels -. Julian Alaphilippe and Marc Hirschi are our breakaway specialists. We see opportunities for them in numerous stages, especially those with challenging finales that suit their abilities".
And further: "For classic-style stages and small group sprints, Matteo Trentin and Rick Pluimers are our reference points. There are stages too hard for pure sprinters, and we are ready to seize our opportunities".
Making his Grand Tour debut, Arvid de Kleijn leads the team in bunch sprints. The Dutch sprinter, who has already collected 13 victories in Tudor Pro Cycling colours, returns after a difficult period and only returned to racing in mid-May at the Rund um Köln. "He's back in excellent form and will be one to watch on high-speed days" Engels observes.
In the mountains - Pyrenees, Massif Central, Vosges and Alps - Michael Storer and Yannis Voisard will target breakaways and stage glory. Veteran Marco Haller brings invaluable Tour de France experience to guide the team in his eleventh Grande Boucle. His leadership will be fundamental for the younger riders, and he himself represents a card to play in breakaways and reduced-group sprints.
