The 34-year-old champion from Ornavasso has won her seventh Italian road race title and after the finish line analyzed the race both personally and as a team: "We knew very well that we had to race hard because the Caneva Castle climb doesn't have prohibitive gradients, so we had to try to drop the fast wheels and propose a decisive action with me and then attack if they caught me. My teammates were fantastic as always, I have to thank them because without them I wouldn't have been able to win. This title is for my teammates."

Elisa then explained that the intense heat influenced the race and also stated: "The last 25 kilometers were very tough, made up of many straightaways where you just had to push, I tried to manage myself well and I managed to reach the finish line"
