Following the frightening crash at the Milano – Sanremo Women in which she suffered a fracture of five ribs and a hairline fracture to her scapula, Debora Silvestri continues her hospital stay. Laboral Kutxa – Fundación Euskadi, the team for which the 27-year-old Venetian cyclist has raced since 2023, issued a statement from which it is learned that "Debora continues to show favorable clinical progress, in line with the severity of the injuries sustained. Due to the severe thoracic trauma, she still requires respiratory support, therefore the medical staff of the team, together with the medical professionals at the center where she is being treated, deemed it appropriate to extend her hospital stay for a few more days. This decision reflects the desire to ensure that her recovery proceeds under the best possible conditions and that she can be discharged with full clinical assurance".
