Valentin Paret-Peintre has signed a new agreement and will be a key element of Soudal Quick-Step until the end of 2028. The French climber joined the Belgian team in 2025 and had an immediate impact, winning the queen stage of the Tour of Oman, capturing two memorable jerseys along the way and finishing with an impressive second place in the general classification.
That decisive season reached its pinnacle in the final week of the Tour de France, where Valentin delivered a memorable performance, triumphing at the top of the mythical Mont Ventoux, making history for both Soudal Quick-Step and French cycling. It was an unforgettable success for the 24-year-old from Annemasse, who was the only French stage winner of that Tour.
"I am very happy here, I feel at home in the team and have built solid relationships with both riders and staff. I love being part of this group, both in races and during training camps. Signing until 2028 means a lot to me, because last season demonstrated how much I can grow in this environment. I firmly believe in this team and feel their confidence in me every day, which is extremely motivating and pushes me to continue progressing," said Valentin, who will start his season next month at the Muscat Classic, before the Tour of Oman.
"It was immediately clear that Valentin possessed the qualities we most appreciate at Soudal Quick-Step. From his arrival, he demonstrated not only his talent, but also the mentality, ambition, and desire to improve that characterize our team. His performances spoke for themselves, but equally important was the way he integrated into the group and embraced our way of racing. Extending his contract was a natural and strategic decision for us. Prolonging Valentin's contract is an investment in this team's ambitions for mountain races and Grand Tours, and we are proud to continue building something solid and ambitious together in the coming years," declared Soudal Quick-Step CEO, Jurgen Foré.
