Portugal will field João Almeida, who podiumed at the recent Vuelta Espana. Switzerland will be led by Marc Hirschi, winner of the Flèche Wallonne and a Tour de France stage, known for his explosiveness in the most challenging finishes.
In the men's time trial, great specialists will compete: besides Evenepoel, Almeida, and Ganna, at the start will be French national champion Bruno Armirail, and Swiss riders Stefan Küng (multiple European and world medalist) and Stefan Bissegger.
Among Elite women in the road race, all eyes are on Pauline Ferrand-Prévot (France), an athlete who in 2024 won the Olympic cross-country title in Paris and in 2025 won Paris-Roubaix and the Tour de France. Italy can count on Elisa Longo Borghini, winner of Paris-Roubaix and Giro d'Italia Donne, as well as medalist at World and European Championships. From the Netherlands, Anna van der Breggen returns to the group, already an Olympic and world champion, as well as multiple Giro Rosa winner, who is getting back in the game after an extraordinary career. For Switzerland, there will be Marlen Reusser, European champion and Olympic time trial medalist, among the world's strongest specialists.
In the women's time trial, world champion Reusser will challenge French riders Cédrine Kerbaol, national time trial champion, and Juliette Labous, both ready to shine in front of their home crowd, along with Anna Kiesenhofer (Austria), who at Tokyo 2021 won the Olympic road race with a legendary solo performance.
Enrico Della Casa, President of the Union Européenne de Cyclisme: "The Road European Championships represent the highlight of our season and this year's edition takes on a special meaning, as it marks the tenth anniversary of the Elite category, introduced in 2016 in Plumelec. Celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Elite category in France, where it all began, has an extraordinary symbolic and sporting significance. The participation of champions who have written indelible pages of modern cycling guarantees days of great spectacle that the public can follow with passion, also thanks to Eurovision's television broadcast. I would like to thank the French Cycling Federation, chaired by Michel Callot, with whom we have shared a solid relationship based on mutual trust for years. A heartfelt thanks goes to the Drôme and Ardèche Departments, the cities and municipalities that have embraced the project with enthusiasm and conviction. Finally, my sincerest thanks go to the Local Organizing Committee led by Guillaume Delpech, who with all his valuable collaborators, once again demonstrated professionalism, passion, and attention to detail that make this event unique. I am certain that, thanks to their commitment, we will experience a memorable championship capable of leaving a lasting mark on our sport."
