The Ghisallo Museum has added a pearl to its collection. From today, enthusiasts visiting Magreglio (Como) will find the Paris-Nice leader's jersey won by Davide Rebellin in 2008.

Delivering it to Antonio Molteni and Carola Gentilini were Davide's mother Brigida and his brother Carlo, who emotionally explained the value of this gift: "This is the only autographed jersey we had, as it wasn't customary for us to ask for an autograph at home. He had given it to me to display at the Ultima Tappa bar I opened in our Lonigo in the winter of 2007, when I had stopped racing as an amateur. I'm happy to donate it to this beautiful museum because I know that many fans will now be able to admire it, forever."

And so it will be, even though the life of this champion with a long career was prematurely torn away from his loved ones and the many fans who respected him by road violence on November 30, 2022. Not by chance, his jersey will be displayed on the memory wall, dedicated to cyclists who were victims of accidents, like Fabio Casartelli and Michele Scarponi, remembered by representatives of their respective foundations that keep their memory alive.

Celebrating Davide and embracing his family: Sergio Casartelli, Fabio's father, with whom Davide shared the joy of the Olympic gold in the road race in Barcelona 1992; the active cyclist Marco Tizza who highlighted the risks of his profession; the counselor of the Italian Professional Cyclists Association (ACCPI) Gabriele Landoni, who together with Antonio Cortese from Io Rispetto Il Ciclista, reiterated how much still needs to be done to make roads child-friendly. Closing the event was Luca Panichi, who raced with both Rebellin and Scarponi, and remembered Davide's athletic longevity, competing as a pro until he was 50 years old.

The idea for this beautiful initiative came from Marcella Scotti from the group "Michele Scarponi and Davide Rebellin Always in Our Hearts", a great enthusiast for whom the Cycling Museum Madonna del Ghisallo represents a special place because she got married right here (in the photo she is with museum president Antonio Molteni and director Carola Gentilini, ed). Like everyone present today, she would have wanted to applaud Davide, still physically with us, instead of seeing his beautiful nieces listening to many memories linked to their uncle, but in this place of the heart, a plaque recalls a great truth. Omnia vincit amor. Love triumphs over everything. Davide is here and from today you can find him at the top of Ghisallo. Forever.
