Eddie Dunbar has signed a two-year contract with Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team for the 2026 and 2027 seasons. The Irish rider from Banteer, County Cork, boasts top-ten finishes in Grand Tours (7th at the 2023 Giro d'Italia, 11th at the 2024 Vuelta with two stage wins), excellent time trial performances, and an aggressive racing style in one-day races and short stage races.
Resuming work with Kurt Bogaerts and racing alongside Tom Pidcock, he is ready to contribute to the Swiss team. "Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team is clearly a rising team, which is a good sign. They are very competitive, tackle challenges even when not winning, and create a positive racing atmosphere by racing together. When Kurt Bogaerts, whom I know well from the Ineos days, joined the team, my interest grew even more. I know how he works. I also spoke with Doug Ryder about how the team is doing and what they expect. In Tom, they have an undisputed leader, which is always positive for any team, so it seems like the right time to join them with my knowledge and experience."
"Grand Tours suit me well because I always improve towards the end. I absorb the workload of a three-week race well. I've caught a glimpse of what I'm capable of, but due to crashes and illnesses, I haven't yet reached my full potential. This is something that awaits me in the next two years. The team has already participated in some major stage races, and I hope to contribute to future ones. Winning a race is never easy, but when an opportunity presents itself, I'm ready to seize it."
"Eddie is a very interesting rider that I know well. He can climb, perform well in time trials, and is aggressive by nature. He has already demonstrated great things in minor stage races, but he has also won two stages at the Vuelta and has often raced in support of team leaders. He is versatile and adapts well to difficult races. I'm happy that he is coming to work with us," Bogaerts stated.
