Tadej Pogacar is the world champion and now also the winner of four Tour de France. However, the Slovenian is not satisfied and is aiming even higher, wanting to conquer both Paris-Roubaix and the fifth Tour de France in 2026.
The Slovenian has won nine Monument Classics, two Tours of Flanders, three Liège-Bastogne-Liège, and four Tours of Lombardy. At 26 years old, Tadej Pogacar already boasts one of the most impressive records in cycling history, almost worthy of Eddy Merckx. In short, he just needs a final victory in the Vuelta and in Milan-Sanremo and Paris-Roubaix, the only Monument Classics he hasn't won yet, to achieve all the main possible goals in cycling.
Second this year in his first participation in the pavé Classic, which didn't seem suitable for a climber like him, the Slovenian has decided to return and win. "I still have some objectives until the end of the season, but now I'll take a break, enjoy the rest period and then think about preparing for the next race. Especially, I want to focus on Paris-Roubaix, which I want to win. This year, at my first participation, I found this race crazy. My second place was already incredible, but I want to come back and win".
Meanwhile, the UAE Emirates-XRG rider is enjoying his Tour de France victory. It's his fourth success in the yellow race, where he has conquered 21 stages, for a total of 104 career victories. These are incredible numbers considering the Slovenian is only 26 years old.
An emotional Pogacar on the final podium said: "It's an honor for me to be here. It was a very tough Tour and I want to thank all the people who were close to me, but also the public I saw on the road who showed me their affection. I also thank the organization for this extraordinary event, not only for us riders but for all people. I have respect for all the people who completed the race and particularly for the two people on the podium with me. I know I won't be able to race the Tour de France forever, but I will definitely return".
