Modern cycling now has two souls (men's and women's cycling), but one great heart. A love that for years has also animated the Alfredo Binda Cycling Society, promoter of one of the most important Italian road events, and which since 2021 has chosen to accompany the historic Three Valleys of Varese with its women's version.
Thus was born the Three Valleys of Varese Women's Race | e-work, with the goal of enhancing and promoting professional women's cycling, a constantly growing reality that today represents one of the strengths of the entire movement and which the society chaired by Renzo Oldani wants to support.
Also this year, on Tuesday, October 7th, the province of Varese will welcome both competitions: in the morning, the elite athletes will battle on the same roads that in the afternoon will host the men's race, creating a great celebration for the entire world of cycling.
The Three Valleys of Varese Women's Race | e-work, although young, has already conquered a place among the most anticipated events of the season. In just four editions, the race has attracted some of the best teams from the international landscape: World Tour teams, Continental teams, and important club formations. A growing success, so much so that it has been included, starting from 2024, in the prestigious UCI Women's ProSeries calendar, on par with the men's race.
In just four editions so far contested, the race's honor roll is already of great prestige, testifying to the value of the event and how much it is considered by the champions of cycling. The Cuban Arlenis Sierra had imposed herself in the first edition of 2021; then with the splendid solo ride of Elisa Longo Borghini in 2022 (in the photo) came the first and so far only Italian victory (in the photo); the strong German Liane Lippert – winner of two stages at the Giro d'Italia Women this year – had triumphed in 2023; while the French Cédrine Kerbaol left her mark in last year's rainy edition at the end of an epic day.
The Three Valleys of Varese Women's Race | e-work continues to grow and write increasingly important pages of women's cycling, bringing Varese and its tradition to the center of the international movement.
