
Venetian riders celebrated success in the 23rd edition of "Up and Down the Ditches" mountain bike race held yesterday in Adria, Rovigo Province. The 24-year-old Elite rider from Portogruaro, Federico Ceolin, representing the Cingolani team, won the second proof of the Serenissima Seingim Trophy, organized by Asd Tuttinbici. The winner, who had previously triumphed in the first Challenge race at San Donà on April 13th during the 5th Xc Basso Piave, finished with a time of 1 hour 1'12"03, ahead of his teammate Cristian Pallaoro and Emilian rider Filippo Bigi. Ceolin, who is also involved in cyclocross and was Italian champion in previous years, has been part of the Italian national team and won the team European title in Pontevedra, Spain in 2024.
Among the Under 23 category, Treviso's Marco Bidoggia, representing Conegliano Bike, emerged victorious, outperforming Alberto Zara from Pordenone (Acido Lattico) and Andrea Concato from Vicenza (Bike Mainetti). In the Women's category, Verona's Elena Dal Ben (Team Verona) won, followed by Mantua's Iris Rolfini (Sportven) and Treviso's Gloria Carretta (Cube Crazy). Notable victories in other categories included Francesco Rocco (Bibione Cycling) among second-year Juniors; Riccardo Ceron (Diavoli Montello) among first-year Juniors; and Valentina Marani (Cube Crazy) in Women's category. Among second-year Beginners, Samuel De Vettori (Cube Crazy) won; Mattia Finesso (Lions D Cavarzere) among first-year Beginners; and Francesca Berardo (Mtb Granfondo) in the Women's category.
In the Master Women category, Ylenia Colpo (Squadra Corse Ali Blu) won; Marco Gazzola (Bibione Cycling) in Elite; Gianluca Giraldin (Racing Bike) in M1; Filippo Carnio (Rainbow) in M2; Alessandro Bergamasco (Red Bike) in M3; Simone Pinalto (Adria Bike) in M4; Davide Pagan (Chioggia Bike) in M5; Massimo Boscolo Cucco (id) in M6; Moreno Bianco (Cube Crazy) in M7; and Fabrizio Stefani (Scavezzon Squadra Corse Mirano) in M8.
Provincial titles for Rovigo were also awarded in the presence of President Mirvano Mazzetto and Vice President. Winners included Andrea Ferrari (Red Bike Team) in Master Elite; Marco Veronese (id) in Master-2; Alessandro Bergamasco (id) in Master-3; Simone Pianalto (Adria Bike) in Master-4; and Mirco Selvaggio (San Bortolo) in Juniors.
The competition, held on a challenging course, saw 150 participants. The next and third race of the Serenissima-Seingim Trophy will take place on September 7th in Sant'Anna di Chioggia, Veneto, during the 33rd Sorriso Trophy.
