May is once again the time for the organizational activities of the Pedale Castelnovese to begin. On Sunday, May 18th, they will propose the twenty-third edition of the memorial dedicated to Alberto Coffani. The event in Gazoldo degli Ippoliti, which benefits from the municipal administration's patronage, will be open to two young female categories of beginners and juniors, and will once again be part of the Lombardy Rosa Trophy in 2025. A winning and tested format proposed by Mauro Coffani, event organizer, in memory of his father Alberto, who for years was an appreciated manager in the regional cycling world and skilled in promoting sports in the territory.
The Pedale Castelnovese of patron Renato Moreni, deeply connected to the Coffani family for decades, will handle the technical organizational aspects of the double race that will take place on the usual three-kilometer city circuit. With eight laps for beginners and fourteen for juniors. "The closeness of Renato Moreni, Pedale Castelnovese, and many friends and collaborators makes remembering my father Alberto's figure more sweet - said Mauro Coffani - who was among the first to believe in and value the young female sector. This year we remember the twenty-fifth anniversary of my father's passing, and the value of this event is even more special and heartfelt."
Renato Moreni is also ready with his group. "May traditionally launches our activities, and doing so in Gazoldo to remember a friend like Alberto Coffani gives us further reason to do well and propose an event that has now crossed Lombardy's borders and attracts athletes from various Italian regions".
The competitive event will be concentrated on the morning of Sunday, May 18th, with preliminary operations starting at 7:30 AM in the center of Gazoldo degli Ippoliti, with the first start for junior girls at 9:30 AM, followed by the beginner girls.
The Gazoldo degli Ippoliti cycling event will also have the honor of opening the fourth edition of the Rosa Challenge from Postumia to Mincio, in collaboration with the Provincial Cycling Federation Committee chaired by Fausto Armanini. "An exceptional opportunity to enhance young women's cycling in the territory - reiterated Mauro Coffani - which, in addition to our commitment, will also involve races in Rodigo, Bagnolo San Vito, and Buscoldo throughout the road season".
The television production of the twenty-third Alberto Coffani Memorial is entrusted to Team Rodella, which will create a comprehensive summary with the most beautiful images and interviews with protagonists and organizers, to be broadcast on Teletutto (ch 12 digital terrestrial) within the weekly program Cycling Today, aired every Thursday at 8:45 PM and available on-demand at teletutto.it/tt-play.
