Just a few days before the official start of the Giro d'Italia, scheduled for Friday, May 9th in Durrës, the VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè has decided on its lineup. For the team led by Bruno Reverberi, general manager, this marks their 43rd participation, an absolute record - no team has ever competed in as many Giro editions as this Emilian team.
The eight selected athletes are: Alessandro Pinarello, Alessio Martinelli, Enrico Zanoncello, Filippo Magli, Filippo Fiorelli, Martin Marcellusi, Luca Covili, and Manuele Tarozzi.
These are the words of sports director and team manager Roberto Reverberi: "The main objective remains winning a stage. We are particularly curious to see our Giro d'Italia debutants, Alessio Martinelli and Alessandro Pinarello, two young talents who have already shown quality in recent years. There is great team chemistry and a strong team spirit: we know we can count on experienced riders like Fiorelli and Zanoncello and on young riders eager to emerge. We have full confidence in our athletes and are determined to make our mark in this edition."
Making their Giro d'Italia debut, launched by the youth project, are Alessio Martinelli, from Valtellina, born in 2001, and Alessandro Pinarello, from Veneto, born in 2003, already in his fourth professional season with VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè. Alongside them will be Faenza native Manuele Tarozzi, born in '98, a breakaway specialist and winner of the mountain classification at Tirreno-Adriatico this year.
The roster is completed by fast riders like Verona's Enrico Zanoncello and Filippo Fiorelli, who last year wore the cyclamen jersey for two days and also won the Intergiro prize. Also present is Filippo Magli, from Tuscany, fourth at Gran Piemonte 2024 and equipped with an excellent turn of speed.
Rounding out the formation are Emilian Luca Covili, 18th in the general classification of the last edition, and Martin Marcellusi, already a protagonist this season with two podium finishes - in the second stage of O Gran Camiño and at the Serra de Tramuntana Trophy - determined to complete the Giro d'Italia for the third time in his home city of Rome.
Guiding the team from the team car will be sports directors Roberto Reverberi, Alessandro Donati, Luca Amoriello, and Mirko Rossato.
