Remco Evenepoel finds his path to success, Alberto Bettiol rediscovers his desired form, Joao Almeida adds another victory to his palmares. This is the verdict of the 17.1 km time trial that closed the Tour de Romandie 2025 in Geneva.
The Olympic and World Champion in the specialty demonstrated his skills and conquered victory, imposing himself at an average speed of 49.334 km/h: a sort of reconnected thread, given that Evenepoel's last time trial success was the World Championship in Zurich.
Second place for Joao Almeida, who, 11 seconds behind, performed better than Lenny Martinez and thus snatched the leader's jersey and the overall victory in the Swiss race. In the general classification, Martinez finished second, Vine third, completing the UAE Emirates XRG celebration, and Lorenzo Fortunato fourth, who, as expected, paid the price against the clock.
Third place went to Alberto Bettiol, who sends a positive signal ahead of the upcoming Giro d'Italia: for the Tuscan from Xds Astana Team, a time 18 seconds slower than the winner.
