The fourth edition of the Visit South Aegean Islands, a two-stage competition taking place in Rhodes, opened with Mattia Negrente's victory. The 19-year-old athlete from XDS Astana Development Team imposed himself ahead of Danish rider Alexander Arnt Hansen from Team Airtox - Cargara Ras and Georgios Bouglas, an experienced local athlete racing with the Hellenic representative team. Another of our compatriots in the XDS Astana Development jersey, Ludovico Maria Mellano, also delivered a good performance, crossing the finish line in Koskinou in fifth position.

Tomorrow the race will continue with the second stage between Rhodes and Salakos, covering a total of 160 kilometers.
