General Manager Alberto Volpi reviews the JCL Team UKYO's Tour of Oman, which concluded with twenty-one-year-old Eritrean Nahom Zeray finishing twelfth overall.
"I'm very happy with how the guys raced both in AlUla and Oman," Volpi explains. "Obviously, the quality of the competitors was extremely high and we couldn't expect more. In any case, our Continental team moved well with enthusiasm and commitment. They all deserve a passing grade for how they managed to deliver an excellent performance despite the crashes involving Zeray, Fancellu, Garibbo, and Masuda, which fortunately had no significant consequences. After all, crashes are part of the job, though it would have been better to avoid them".

The Tour of Oman provided good visibility for JCL Team UKYO, which, beyond Zeray's result, stood out with Andrea D'Amato's fourth place in the first stage at Bimmah Sink Hole and eleventh in the fifth stage, with two top-twenty finishes by Fancellu and Garibbo's placement in the fourth stage.

"I particularly liked the team spirit and racing condition. For example, young D'Amato distinguished himself skillfully in the first stage, almost reaching the podium. And considering his limited experience, that's an impressive calling card. Zeray and Fancellu kept pace with the best in the two mountain stages, showing competitiveness with World Tour team athletes. Now the guys have much more awareness of their potential, and their form is also improving. The races in AlUla and Oman have put them in a position to have more opportunities in upcoming events".

Now, onward to the next commitments: Trofeo Laigueglia, Tour of Taiwan, and the Coppi & Bartali International Week will be the new challenges for JCL Team UKYO, which these days is engaged with Japanese riders Yamamoto, Kamada, and Koishi in the road races of the Asian Championships taking place in Bueng Si Fai, Thailand. It's worth noting that Kamada won bronze in the individual under-23 time trial and silver in the Mixed Relay together with Koishi.
