
Olav Kooij is once again dictating the law in the sprint. The Visma Lease a Bike rider, winner yesterday and leader of the Tour of Britain general classifications, easily imposed himself in Stowmarket where the second stage of the race has just concluded. The Dutchman left behind Tom Crabbe, a 20-year-old Belgian from Team Flanders - Baloise, and Samuel Watson of INEOS Grenadiers. Alberto Dainese of Tudor finished eighth in the order of arrival.
Today's stage saw four breakaway riders as protagonists for a long time: the 25-year-old French rider Baptiste Veistroffer (Lotto), Portuguese rider Rafael Reis (Anicolor / Tien 21) and Unibet Tietema Rockets riders Andreas Stokbro and Hartthijs de Vries. The four attackers took the initiative about thirty kilometers after the start, and until the mountain grand prix at Semer Hill they pedaled in agreement, then Reis could no longer keep up with his adventure companions and detached, being quickly recovered by the peloton led by Affini and teammates.
