Aiming for the stars but not the rainbow jersey. Pauline Ferrand Prévot, winner of the Tour de France Femmes, has decided not to participate in the Road World Championships scheduled in Kigali, Rwanda, on September 27th. The 33-year-old native of Reims announced this herself during a press conference. "I won't go to the World Championships, I want to enjoy what I've conquered at the Tour de France. I discussed it with my coach, and we decided this way." The French rider, who won the world championship in Ponferrada in 2014, spoke.
Pauline, however, immediately clarified that her season is not over yet: "I don't want to stop, it's too early and would be too long a break. I'll race in Plouay on August 30th and possibly also the Tour Cycliste Féminin International de l'Ardèche" (September 9-14, ed.).
These races that Pauline Ferrand Prévot has on her agenda certainly represent good preparation for the continental championships to be held on October 4th in France, in Drôme Ardèche. "The Europeans are a goal, I want to prepare well and try to perform at my best," said the Visma Lease a Bike athlete.
Ferrand Prévot answered many questions, also explaining that she will certainly participate in the Gravel World Championships but not in those on "fat wheels". "The national coach Clolus asked me to be there, but I won't," said the Olympic cross-country champion from Paris 2024, laughing.
