Among the protagonists of the Tour de France Femmes, which concluded on Sunday with Pauline Ferrand-Prévot's victory, Kim Le Court must be included. The Mauritian from AG Insurance - Soudal Team won the stage in Guéret and wore the yellow jersey, becoming the first African athlete in history to do so, leading the general classification for four days. The great performance of the 29-year-old from Curepipe has sparked much interest and animated her compatriots, who cheered for her both on the island and beyond its borders. To learn more about the cycling movement of Ile Maurice, tuttobiciweb interviewed Michel Mayer, president of the Mauritian federation.
President Mayer, good morning and thank you for accepting to answer our questions. Can you tell us about the emotions you felt seeing what Kim Le Court managed to achieve at the Tour?
"The entire Island has been holding its breath and following the Tour de France these days. Kim has truly done something great. She is a fighter, never gives up, and has reached where she wanted to go. We are all very proud of her. We are also very proud of what Kim's feats have triggered throughout the nation. To give you an idea, the Mauritian federation's Facebook page has had over a million views just in these days."
