There is a touch of Italy in the success achieved by Angelina Novolodskaya at the Youth Olympic Games currently taking place in Dakar, Senegal. The talented Russian athlete, who wears the colors of Team Petrucci Gauss run by Luigi Castelli, has claimed the gold medal in the junior women's road race, confirming all of her international value. For Novolodskaya, this is yet another triumph in an extraordinary season that has already seen her crowned world champion in the Omnium and secure three European titles on the track in the Madison, Omnium, and Pursuit disciplines.

At the Senegalese finish line, the Brescia-based team's rider finished ahead of Australian Elsie Apps and Czech Linda Sitkova, thus completing a podium of the highest technical level. Italy also delivered a solid performance thanks to Anna Bonassi. The Brescia native from Sport Club Brescia Flandres Love completed her race in tenth position, securing a top-ten finish in a particularly prestigious and competitive international competition.
