Just days away from the official presentation of the Giro d'Italia - scheduled for November 3rd in Rome - and the anticipations are naturally multiplying. Abruzzo will once again play a leading role, as reported by Enrico Giancarli in Il Centro in today's edition.
Confirmed the preview from 20 days ago: from Sulmona to Campo di Giove here is a time trial climb that will be one of the key stages for the 2027 edition of the Giro. And the other previews from the newspaper are also confirmed with a stage entirely in Abruzzo starting from Alba Adriatica and finishing in Lanciano and finally the restart from Trasacco for the stage that will conclude in Naples.
It will be a stage, that Abruzzo stage, which should run along the coast before heading inland, pass through Chieti and offer a classic northern-style finale to arrive in Lanciano.
The next day comes the time trial climb of almost 20 km from Sulmona to Campo di Giove. The first part is essentially flat to exit Sulmona and reach the Cansana junction. The road then will begin to climb gradually but with gradients that will not be particularly demanding. Once you reach Causano you will continue straight always uphill to Campo di Giove where the finish line will be placed.
The next day restart from Trasacco, already highly praised in the Tirreno-Adriatico 2025, for the classic stage with finish in Naples. After Naples, before the rest day, another hilltop finish on Monte Livata in Lazio, where last year Lorenzo Finn won in the Giro next gen. The stage will start from Itri in the province of Latina. And curiosity for the finish at the ski resort of Zum Zeri in Lunigiana and for the individual time trial at the Monza circuit that will precede the last rest day and the mountain stage Sondrio-Aprica that smells very much of cycling history.
