Vingegaard to Uno-X? It's not an option to be ruled out entirely and contacts with the Danish champion have been confirmed by Hushovd. A future team change for Jonas Vingegaard is not impossible, but it remains distant today. Thor Hushovd, team manager of Norwegian squad Uno-X Mobility, confirmed to TV 2 that there have been contacts with the Dane, two-time Tour de France winner. «The cycling world is small. So, there have been contacts», said the former world champion.
For now, however, talking about a transfer is premature. Vingegaard is tied to Visma-Lease a Bike until the end of 2028 and has previously suggested he cannot imagine himself with another team. What complicates any potential deal is especially the financial aspect: «What doesn't work in favor of signing Vingegaard is his salary. It's quite high», Hushovd admitted.
Uno-X, a Norwegian team with a strong Scandinavian identity, could seem like a natural destination for the Danish rider. But to turn interest into a concrete project, additional resources would be needed. Hushovd pointed to a possible path: «There would be the possibility of a Danish company entering ready to invest in the team».
It's a hypothesis, not a negotiation close to conclusion. Timing and budget remain decisive: for now there have been contacts, but no imminent transfer.
