A serious loss has struck Veneto cycling and in particular that of Padua with the death of Graziano Lovo, known to everyone as "Ciano" but above all for being the historic founder of the Cycling School of Vò Euganeo, in the province of Padua. He was 79 years old and his death came, as has been learned, in the morning while he was using a corn cob stripper for corn cobs.
Graziano Lovo, who had achieved excellent sporting results in the past, had among his greatest passions that for animals and for cycling. He had trained from a very young age at the Ciclisti Padovani school and the motto he often repeated to young riders was that "Without sacrifice you achieve nothing".
He was the father of Loris, Councilman of the Veneto Cycling Federation and had managed to bring several riders to professionalism such as Alberto Dainese, Marco Fincato and Filippo Fortin and among women he had brought to prominence Sofia Beggio and Linda Sanarini.
For the occasion, the Veneto Regional Committee of the Cycling Federation issued a statement in which it is reported that "it stands with great affection with Loris and his entire family, expressing its most sincere condolences in this moment of sorrow".
Lovo's funeral was held today, Saturday, October 24th starting at 10 a.m., at the Parish Church of Vò after the arrival of the coffin from Schiavonia Hospital.
Graziano Lovo leaves behind his wife Odilla, his sons Loris and Andrea, his daughters-in-law Stefania and Silvia and his grandchildren Pietro and Liam. Our deepest condolences go out to all of them.
