Dr. Adrian Rotunno, Medical Director of Team UAE Emirates XRG, explains: "Unfortunately, Tadej suffered a serious accident during today's stage and was forced to withdraw from the race. He is stable and, following a thorough medical evaluation at the hospital, Tadej has been diagnosed with a concussion, a displaced left clavicle fracture, a stable C7 cervical fracture and multiple abrasions.

Fortunately, there are no other serious injuries or neurological consequences. Surgery on the clavicle will be necessary, which will be postponed due to precautions for the concussion.
