At 20:45, the long-awaited medical bulletin on Tadej Pogacar's condition arrives. Dr. Adrian Rotunno, Medical Director of the UAE Emirates XRG Team, explains: "Unfortunately, Tadej suffered a serious accident during today's stage and was forced to withdraw from the race. He is stable and, following a thorough medical evaluation at the hospital, Tadej has been diagnosed with a concussion, a displaced fracture of the left clavicle, a stable C7 cervical fracture, and multiple abrasions.

Fortunately, there are no other serious injuries or neurological consequences. Surgery on the clavicle will be necessary, which will be postponed due to precautions for the concussion.

Tadej remains under the care of our medical team and we will provide further updates after the surgery".

Pogacar left the hospital on a stretcher with his neck immobilized by a collar and, according to reports from Spain, was transported by ambulance to Barcelona where, as soon as possible, he will undergo surgery on his clavicle.
