Gravity Media Italy will be the protagonist of the television production of the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Val di Sole-Trentino, scheduled from August 26 to 30 at Daolasa di Commezzadura (Val di Sole), the most important and prestigious appointment of the competitive season.
Following the recent experience in Triathlon in Sardinia, Gravity Media Italy faces a new challenge in the world of outdoor sports, putting at the disposal technologies, professionalism and expertise to guarantee the production and distribution of the international television signal of the event.
Val di Sole, already host of the World Championships in 2021, will once again welcome the world's best bikers, thousands of spectators and a rich program of competitions that will make the Trentino territory the center of world mountain biking.
The calendar will kick off Wednesday, August 26 with E-Mountain Bike Cross-country and Team Relay races, continuing Thursday, August 27 with the Short Track and Junior Cross-country races, Friday, August 28 with Downhill qualifications (with the course developing on the popular Black Snake trail), followed by the "4X Pro Tour" evening competitions, Saturday, August 29 with Downhill and concluding Sunday, August 30, with the Olympic Cross Country races for Elite and Under 23 categories.
For Gravity Media Italy (a leading operator in the broadcast production and live production technology sector, with particular focus on "major sporting events"), this represents the operational debut in Val di Sole, in a context characterized by considerable technical and logistical complexity.
The productions of the world championship event will involve three different disciplines (Downhill, Olympic Cross-country and Short-track Cross-country) each with specific characteristics and needs from a television perspective. Friday, August 27, production will also focus on the collateral event of the "Four Cross Pro Tour", in which the best mountain biking performers will compete.
Gravity Media Italy's Commitment
The production will involve a crew of approximately 14 professionals, supported by the OB Van "Nova 150", engaged for the entire duration of the event. To ensure television coverage and distribution of the international feed destined for broadcasters worldwide, approximately 30 kilometers of cables will be laid, including fiber optic infrastructure and signal conversion systems, along routes that cross forests and mountain areas.
The setup will require the creation from scratch of all technical infrastructure necessary for television production. Unlike winter sports competitions, where some structures are already present in the territory, in mountain biking every system must be installed specifically for the event, all in full agreement with the organizers of Grandi Eventi Val di Sole. The technical team will also be ready to intervene promptly in case of unforeseen circumstances, which may be caused by rapid changes in weather conditions.
Also, logistics will represent a distinctive element of the project: the transport of materials will take place through specially equipped pick-ups to operate in forest sections and mountain routes, a solution that is essential in a context where it is not possible to use helicopters.
"Being called to carry out the television production of the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Val di Sole-Trentino represents, for Gravity Media Italy, a source of great pride and a technical challenge of the highest level. This is an event that requires expertise, planning and adaptability in a particularly complex natural context, where every detail must be studied to guarantee maximum signal quality. Following the recent experience of Triathlon in Sardinia, we are tackling a spectacular outdoor discipline with the awareness that our value is measured precisely in our ability to transform the difficulties of the territory into an opportunity to offer spectacular images to broadcasters around the world. It is a project that involves a highly specialized team, cutting-edge technologies and significant logistical work, confirming the growth of Gravity Media Italy in the production of major international sporting events." declared Claudio Cavallotti, CEO of Gravity Media Italy.
