Third a year ago at the Tour, today Florian Lipowitz is forced to say goodbye to the Grande Boucle. The German made a serious mistake taking a corner at full speed, his front wheel slipped and the rider crashed into a curb protected only partially by a yellow mattress.
The Red Bull Bora Hansgrohe rider remained on the ground for several minutes, was moved to allow Paul Seixas, who was coming behind him, to pass safely, and then finally got up holding his right arm and suggesting a possible collarbone fracture.
In the same corner, there were also close calls for Pogacar and Del Toro, while Evenepoel tackled it more carefully and without any issues.
