Jonas Vingegaard was also involved in the crash triggered by Alex Molenaar in the chaotic finale of today's stage. His sports director Marc Reef explained this in a television interview, saying: «Jonas was caught up in the crash, he damaged his bike but quickly took the one from Campenaerts. The team worked hard to bring him back to the group, we were very close to the finish line but fortunately we managed to get back and cross the finish line with the same time as the other general classification riders».

We reviewed the footage and spotted what had escaped notice during the live broadcast, namely Vingegaard getting back up with his hand on the radio to communicate with the team car and his teammates.
