This Sunday, July 12, the Re Stelvio Mapei returns, the event that attracts cyclists and running enthusiasts to Bormio every summer, ready to test themselves on the historic climb leading to Passo dello Stelvio. Now in its 41st edition, the race confirms itself as an eagerly awaited appointment for lovers of sport and mountains, on a 21-kilometer course with 1,533 meters of elevation gain, from Bormio to Passo dello Stelvio.
Organized by Mapei in collaboration with U.S. Bormiese, the Re Stelvio Mapei offers a rich program again this year, designed to involve athletes, enthusiasts, and casual participants in a day dedicated to sport, nature, and community.
The start will be given at 8:50 a.m. with the non-competitive cycle touring gathering dedicated to electric-assisted bikes. At 9:00 a.m., the 21 km road race will start, reserved for FIDAL-registered athletes or promotional bodies, followed by the running event open to all. The competitive cycling races will instead start at 9:15 a.m. with the women's categories and at 9:30 a.m. with the men's categories, both reserved for F.C.I. registered athletes and Consulta bodies. Following this will be the Cicloraduno Mapei Memorial Aldo Sassi, open to both registered and non-registered participants and twinned with "Pedala con Aldo," to share the climb in the company of sports personalities.
The Re Stelvio Mapei represents much more than a competition: it is a day that celebrates the values that Mapei has always shared with the world of sport, such as passion, effort, constant commitment, and team spirit. Values that have accompanied the company's bond with cycling for years and that find in this event one of their most authentic expressions.
