For the 16th consecutive time, Lucca has had the privilege of presenting in preview, in the presence of the authors, the six finalist books and already winners of the Bancarella Sport selection award. The absolute winner will then be announced in Piazza della Repubblica in Pontremoli on September 12th. Among the six finalists: "From Your Correspondent" by Alberto Cerruti; "My Olympia in 100 Stories + 1" by Dan Peterson with Umberto Zapelloni; "Claudio Chiappucci, the Places of the Devil" with Federico Vergari; "The Prophecy of Magic Marquez" by Claudio Marcello Costa; "Black Roads" by Marco Pastonesi; "The History of Tennis in 50 Portraits" by Paolo Bertolucci with Vincenzo Martucci. Therefore, two "cycling-related" books in the final round, in the perfect tradition of a sport that has always been a symbol of storytelling, of fine writing, of emotion that becomes paper and in some cases, today, also digital. A fine achievement for the "diablo" Chiappucci, accompanied in this case by Federico Vergari, and for our Marco Pastonesi, who has already won the Bancarella, but never stops amazing us and touching our hearts, telling us stories with that personal and captivating writing style, in a perfect interplay between words and anecdotes.
