The cry of a single voice risks being lost in the wind, the cry of a group can certainly be heard, the cry of an entire community can achieve unexpected results. And why not?, move mountains that seem immovable.
In recent days, the crime news has filled newspaper pages with accounts of accidents involving cyclists. A war bulletin that becomes increasingly intolerable, unacceptable, unbearable hour after hour.
Mario Cipollini offers us food for thought in a lengthy post shared on Facebook: with composure and at the same time with bitterness, the Lion King mourns the latest victims (the video was recorded this morning, when the death toll had not yet been updated with the tragedy that occurred in Sicily) and launches a proposal to the entire cycling community: "There are many of us who love cycling, there are many of us who want to ride for pleasure, to go to work, to go shopping, to stay healthy, for a thousand reasons. There are many of us asking for respect from other road users, so why don't we unite and make our voice heard, our cry, our request?"
